Sue has spent all her life working within the equestrian world, from showing to riding out but started her training career back in 1990 when she moved up to Yorkshire with Harvey. Her first winner was African Safari at Ascot in a Grade 2 Novice Chase in November of that year and her career has continued on an upward curve ever since. Success has never been far away from the yard having won multiple Grade 3/2 races whilst also accounting for a number of Grade 1 placings. It goes without saying that Auroras Encore is her biggest achievement to date but she is still as determined as ever to improve and progress her string and currently has an exciting crop of younger horses to go novice chasing with next year.
Where do we start….Harvey is a household name in many homes up and down the country and his reputation always proceeds him. He is most recognised for his success in the equestrian world where he started competing in 1947 and has travelled the world representing his country and himself winning a whole host of showjumping titles. With Sue, he has been part of an incredible team and it is his eye for a horse at the sales where he really brings value to the racing partnership. Over the years he has purchased a number of horses for little money which have gone on to be unbelievably successful. Horses such as The Last Fling, Royal Emperor, Quwetwo, Cloudy Too and more recently Midnight Shadow are all fine examples of how the two have combined together to achieve great success.
