Sue and Harvey Smith have been training horses from Craiglands Farm for nearly 30 years on the heart of the West Yorkshire moors, during which time Sue has firmly established herself as one of the leading trainers in the UK.
Over the years’ the stable has been extremely successful winning a number of major prizes up and down the country with the most notable of course being Auroras Encore, who was successful in the 2013 Grand National under Ryan Mania. Sue has also tasted success at the Cheltenham Festival back in 2008 when Mister McGoldrick took the Racing Post Plate under Dominic Elsworth and in more recent times Midnight Shadow has been flying the flag for the yard in the Cotswolds, taking this years’ Relkeel Hurdle.
Their success is built on a great team ethic and an incredible ability to spot talent in horses that nobody else can. Many of their achievements have come from horses that have cost very little and it is Sue’s training expertise that has given horses their chance to progress and flourish.
If you would like to find out more about being part of the team, the kettle is always on and everybody is more than welcome to drop by and discuss becoming an owner in this highly successful operation.
